Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) will not play in the final preseason game Friday, Aug. 28, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Huddle Up: Penix was recently cleared for team drills, but it seems the team does not want to risk a setback during the preseason game. He is still an option to be the starting quarterback this season, so fantasy players should keep an eye on his status over the next week or two. He will be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he starts.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) has been cleared for 11-on-11 practices and will practice on Monday, according to HC Kevin Stefanski on Saturday, Aug. 22.
Huddle Up: Penix has a lot of ground to make up, as it appears that he's behind Tua Tagovailoa to be the Falcons' Week 1 starter. Leave him on waivers for fantasy football at this time, as he has zero guarantees about any starting consideration in Atlanta right now.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) has been making good progress in his recovery and should gain confidence once he is medically cleared to team drills, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Huddle Up: Penix has been limited since the start of training camp and may be behind Tua Tagovailoa in the competition for the starting quarterback job. Penix can be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he wins the starting job.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) is still limited to 7-on-7 work, but he has "looked sharp lately," according to Marc Raimondi of ESPN.com.
Huddle Up: With Penix still working his way back from a knee injury, Tua Tagovailoa has to be considered the frontrunner to open the year as the starter. Given the injury history of both quarterbacks, it wouldn't be a surprise to see both players under center during the course of the year. Whoever ends up starting will have legitimate QB2 appeal in an Atlanta offense with plenty of weapons.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) has not yet been cleared for 11-on-11 work, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. He added, "He's exactly where he needs to be."
Huddle Up: With Penix being out longer, this will continue to help out Tua Tagovailoa's chances of earning the starting job. Whoever is the starter could be a value in fantasy, though the better option for fantasy players is projecting to be Tagovailoa.

Atlanta Falcons QB Michael Penix Jr. (knee) may be cleared to participate in team drills before the end of offseason workouts, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski. Penix has been able to take part in seven-on-seven drills as part of his recovery.
Huddle Up: It seems like Penix should be at least a limited participant when training camp starts, but fantasy players can monitor the situation. He will be competing with Tua Tagovailoa for the starting job during training camp but will only be a No. 2 fantasy quarterback if he wins the job.
